Root Why are ROMS so big in size

hi i recently got this phone from a friend after he cracked the screen he said if i can fix it i can have it so i ordered a new digitizer and got it working again, then onto the memory problem that's total bs why so litttle sapce so i read up some xda forums and rooted and installed(tried to)a few roms, so see if that would help and then i encountered a few problems there 1)there are like no good roms for the metropcs version of this phone 2) the roms themselves are insanely large(150mb i don't think so) im coming from a huawei ascend so i have made that phone pretty damn awesome(most roms are only 50-70mb),why are the roms for this phone so large??

Yeah unfortunately that's the major problem with WFS. But if you're rooted, use Link2sd. That will remove your memory problems forever
