Help Why can't I find the Equalizer?

I keep hearing people mention the equalizer as a standard part of ICS but, for the life of me, I can't find it on my Nexus. A little help please?

It's under the three dot menu setting (next to the Market and Search icons) under "Sound effects" while you're playing a song in the Music app.

because idk really what i can do with the root. and i am not the most up to date and skilled with any sort of program rewriting...

What the heck is with the bass boost & 3d sound settings? They sound really weird to me... bass increase sounds much more natural by increasing the actual equalizer. The 3d I suppose is supposed to create more of a "surround" effect, but it just sounds rather robotic to me. :-P

Regardless, great tip here on the equalizer. I'm not sure how I missed it when I was looking at the music player the last few times, but it defiantly breathes life into my new set of earbuds (monster turbines).

Yeah I agree, the 3D setting is definitely odd and the bass setting tends to distort if pushed beyond halfway.

I use the 3D setting down somewhere near 10-20% and the bass not past half. I'm deciding if the PowerAmp Pro presets sound better than the presets in the MusicFX stock equalizer.

Also note, if you use Volume+ you have to select Volume+ for the default sound effects in Settings > Sound, thereby disabling MusicFX equalizer. Of course Volume+ has some equalizer settings too, so it just depends what you like.

Very noob question but does changing the eq settings affect other apps? I use Rhapsody mainly.

No, I don't think this works outside of the Music app. I use Slacker radio and I can easily tell it does not work on it, that being said since the equalizer is only available in the Music app my best assumption is that it only works in that app, and which kind of sucks because you can really notice a difference when using the music app and slacker radio.
