Help Why Can't we Send Vertical Pictures in text messages?

Is this a Motorola thing? Whenever I try to send a picture that I took vertically (I'm talking about the orientation of the phone at the time of taking the picture) it always attaches horizontally in the text message. BTW they display just fine in my gallery.

I know it's not an Android thing because my buddy with an HTC Incredible can send vertical pictures just fine.

WTF...can anyone help me answer this question?

Alright, well it's not ideal, but the workaround I found is to open the pic in another app (Picsay, or photoshop), then text if from there, this will cause it to text in the vertical orientation.

It sucks that we have to go through an extra hoop, but at least we can send them.

Same thing when I post on facebook. I have to rotate it on my laptop.
