Root Why did my battery life fail after rooting?

Hey all... got a question for you.

I was getting good battery life on my Evo ( easily lasting 12+ hours). I wantes to root my phone to use wifi tether, and get rid of bloat.

I rooted my phone using unrevoked, and did nothing more (kept stock ). Things seemed to go good, however after rooting my battey life became horrible. My phone was losing approx 10% per hour with screen off.

I used Titanium backup to freeze sprint bloatware, had setcpu to scale down when the screen was off, etc...
I was never able to find the cause of the drain... I used system panel, and spare parts.

Eventually i got sick of it, and unrooted.... and now battery life is back to great.

Anyone have any thoughts??

Did u check your awake time vs up time? It sound like something was probably running and not allowing your phone to sleep. What other apps did u download once rooted? There are a few that have been known to cause this problem.
