I hate ad supported apps. I'd much rather pay for them, as I did all of the Angry Birds titles, just to get rid of them.
I don't disagree, but the Android (Google) model is to provide a venue for advertisers via the apps, not unlike the broadcast media model whereas Apple is more like Pay-per-view or satellite radio where everything is a fee and advertising is minimal.
Arguing that iOS developers make more money based only on revenues from the App Store and Android Market respectively is like saying HBO makes more money than CBS, TNT or Nickelodeon because you pay for HBO content, but not for the broadcast networks.
It's important to look at the big picture.
