Why do devs pick iOS over Android?

I hate ad supported apps. I'd much rather pay for them, as I did all of the Angry Birds titles, just to get rid of them.

I don't disagree, but the Android (Google) model is to provide a venue for advertisers via the apps, not unlike the broadcast media model whereas Apple is more like Pay-per-view or satellite radio where everything is a fee and advertising is minimal.

Arguing that iOS developers make more money based only on revenues from the App Store and Android Market respectively is like saying HBO makes more money than CBS, TNT or Nickelodeon because you pay for HBO content, but not for the broadcast networks.

It's important to look at the big picture.

The big picture, for me, is that I'd rather not be nagged. LOL. If I can't buy the ads away, I will just block them. I guess iOS has spoiled me. :)

I'm completely the opposite. Ads don't bother me and I'll look for an ad-supported version of an app over a paid one almost any day of the week unless the paid version adds functionality. If all it does is take away the ads, then I'm find with seeing the ads.

I never have a problem with ad-supported apps, simply because I don't often see the ads. My phone is only online when I require it. No internet = no ads. :) Also any ads which are served by Google, don't appear anyway.
