Why do so many people bang on their screens?

I find it really odd how many people I see that bang on their screens when touching buttons etc...

Just a few minutes ago I watched a video review of some apps, and the reviewer was banging so hard on his screen I could actually hear the impact! Tapping harder doesn't make the response any faster or more accurate.

Okay, so maybe I'm being overly critical of people, but c'mon... be nice to your device. :)

Many i believe when coming from a physical keyboard, haven't made the adjustment to the touch screen affect.

Actually I think it's those that come from the pressure sensitive touch screen. Those did wear out over time and you had to tap harder and harder. I even found myself doing that to the Hero at first after having had the mindset from Palm. Took a week or two to get used to the pressing vs tapping.

Also, I sometimes press a little off balance and hit my fingernail rather than the skin and make the tapping sound totally unintentionally.

i'm quite sure the ratio of idiot bats to smart bats is alot better than the ratio of idiot humans to smart humans.

idiot bats tend to die before the smart bats. sadly, that doesn't happen to humans. :(

lol... yeah.. your point is on target..

it is quite the opposite...
idiot humans reproduce much faster than the smart humans!

The inner workings of the screen smashers.... let's take a look, shall we?

"Ooooh... shiny... it's got colors!! TAP!!"
--slowly loading and no response on screen--
"What is... no work. DACH!!!" *x5 tap in increasingly faster pace*
--screen is black from loading--
"WHY IT NO WORK?!! DARRCH!!! HULK SMASH!!!!"
*nail shattering smashes on screen rapidly until application loads*
"PHONE NO WORK RIGHT!!! JUNK IT BE!!! DRRAAGGGH!!!"

Fascinating....
