Help Why do URLs not show as hyperlinks in Emails? [solution for rooters, workaround for others]

Wasn't granted until 1999, after the patent laws changed thanks to dot-com lobbying - and Apple waited until it was profitable to seek enforcement against the "infringement." The method in this case is used by many Android phones and apps and was (and still is) in use by Microsoft Windows.

But HTC experienced record growth for the first 3 quarters of last year - Apple saw another Samsung in the making, so they took this bite out of HTC's hide. The clerks working for the blithering idiot judge could not believe that he went against their recommendations to throw the case out as without merit.

Bet me that judge wasn't greased by Apple. :mad:

So anyway - this applies to all HTC devices sold in the US now.

There's an Apple innovation for you. Hamstring the competition with a legal quagmire while introducing decade-old technology as new.
 
I have this same problem. With my OG Evo, if I was on Reddit is Fun and clicked on a youtube video, it would open with the youtube app. Are you telling me this isn't possible now without rooting?

As of now, yes. You can thank these dumb patent lawsuits for that.

The fix is just a simple flash in recovery. Or download a custom ROM with other goodies already built in (like getting rid of that pesky menu bar and getting the full screen to use)
 
Got my LTE yesterday and so far I like it but none of the hyperlinks work from incoming emails. The link is there but only as text with nothing to click on.
 
Problem is I'm not really interested in rooting. This is starting to look like a bad idea I lost the ability to view my 3d pictures open all my excel documents and now this. I should've kept my 3d.

No problem, its not for everyone. You should know that this doesnt just affect the 4G LTE. I know for a fact the OG EVO had this apple patch applied and I wouldn't be suprised if the 3D got the update that removed link options as well.
 
Thanks I just figured that out. Throw the HTC mail app in the trash and replace it with the gmail app and you are good to go.
Now if I can only figure out how to open Polaris office manually so I can view all my documents I will be a little bit happier.
