(if it's a combination of bug fixes and improved features, please respond in the poll with which is most important to you ;))

I'm in both camps: fix bugs and additional features.

I'm mainly interested in the additional memory available (although, it still doesn't sound like all 512 is used)

Bugs, new featutres(I love the Froyo Leak!) faster, love being able to put all my apps to external SD card

Mainly I want it for Bluetooth voice dialing. I was told that the upcoming Froyo will have that but the leaked 2.2 doesn't seem to support it. Maybe once they're satisfied with this public beta test that Samsung initiated it'll be added into the final package.

Im looking forward to both the bug fixes and the new features of 2.2.

I knew that this type of poll could include a "both b and c" response, but decided against it to try to bring out the main reasons for those looking forward to Froyo in their Captivates. ;)

I'm planning on installing the leaked Froyo because of the new features.

On a related topic: I'm personally more looking forward to a stable implementation of Froyo than Gingerbread. Perhaps I'm missing something, but the jump from 2.1 to 2.2 seems bigger than the one from 2.2 to 3.0. I know that Gingerbread is supposed to support bigger screens, more powerful CPUs, etc. But those improvements are irrelevant while I have my Captivate, and may actually work against this phone - devs might put most of their effort into adapting current software for newer Gingerbread-optimized hardware rather than into making new content.

I feel the same as the above. Also when it comes out, it comes out - just as long as it is working well once released.

I don't want Froyo... and frankly I'm surprised I'm taking that position, or maybe not... :)

Especially since 99% of the time, I'm a very avid early adopter.

Here's why I'm _not _eager, and why I will _skip_ Froyo.

1) Had it been available sooner, I would have upgraded out of matter of course.

2) While I've been waiting I have optimized Eclair 2.1 to perform so well, that I have no reason to upgrade. Eclair does absolutely everything I want in a brisk, stable, and reliable way. TouchWiz 3.0 is actually quite sufficient, even though I am a power user.

3) Time flies... and before we know it, I believe Gingerbread will be out. That is the OS I _will_ use in a new device I purchase shortly after Gingerbreads release.

Cheers... :)

Flash mainly. Also hoping it unleashes the hardware a bit. Really looking forward to updating all my apps with one "okay-go!". Not expecting magic to happen though.

I'm not chomping at the bit for Froyo but I will probably upgrade sometime after the official update comes out. 2.1 is performing great for me.

While I respect and understand your reasoning that Android 2.1 is sufficient for your needs, there are still numerous bug fixes and improvements in 2.2 and you don't list any actual negatives or reasons to not to install it and get these. Plus, there are some really useful apps that require 2.2 (such at the only apps that can track data usage on a per-application basis).

I would like to have Flash without having to root or whatever it is I need to do to have Flash work. Among other things, would like to have Hulu working on my captivate.

+1 on hulu and other streaming video sites that use flash.

I just read the first post I'm not too sure what froyo will do, I just know its gonna make my phone run faster in about every way..this is my first android phone. I'm loving how 2.1 is faster than the iphone 4! and I love the concept off it being even faster. I haven't even noticed any bugs on 2.1 lol

I guess I'm blissfully unaware hahaha
