Help Why does my galaxy s2 keep chiming?

Formerly my Galaxy S2 would chime only when I received an inbound e-mail. As of yesterday it now chimes about every 10-20 min. regardless. I've even chosen "Silent" as the notification tone, and it still keeps doing it. And I've gone into the Messaging app, hit settings, scrolled all the way down to Select Ringtone and chosen "Silent" there as well.

Really annoying. Any idea why this would suddenly start occurring and how to make it stop? I'll even settle for no notification chimes at all. Thx

Have you turned on your reminders?

I found this fix over at the Android Central forums . From the home screen tap on Settings, Language and input, Text to speech output and uncheck or turn off Driving mode. I'm not sure why this would work but it's worth a try.

Driving mode was already turned off. And where do you turn on your reminders?
