Why does my music player keep stopping?

Donjuro, Ive since rooted my volt and uninstalled most of the bloatware, and have not had much issue since. I can leave my Pandora running and Google something, play with something in my phone, and it will keep playing now 😀

Wow that's crazy. Quad core and a gig of ram and it force closes when multitasking?!?!? Crazy. I have the older optimus f7 with similar specs to the volt with dual core processors a gig of ram. Less powerful yet I can open a lot of apps simultaneously and it never force closes. Does lag a bit though.

Donj, one and the other have no relation. Yes, you could say it is to much memory use. The browser you are running in the foreground is using up to much memory for the OS to keep the music player in the background.

Installed apps take no RAM.

While I understand what you're saying, that's not entirely true. Apps like to run background processes, even if you aren't actively running the app. They check for updates, notifications, ad data, etc. If you have a bunch of apps trying to run rogue processes, then you could easily run out if memory.

I was just thinking, do you all have your launchers set to stay in memory? I don't, and I don't have this issue. Just a thought.

I run no launcher except what ever is default. I also currently run the vanilla lg volt rom. I can pretty much guarantee chrome will close the music player after a few pages.

I can understand apps that use a background processes for push notifications, but not that many do. I think facebook is my only 3rd party app that does.

Has there been any breakthroughs on this issue? Sometimes my phone decides to just close my keyboard mid sentence, close spotify if I open facebook. Sometimes it just closes EVERYTHING and takes me to my home screen. Very frustrating.

That's because of the lack of memory, which keyboard are you using and which app does it close out with?

First k used Swiftkey. Then I went to LGs keyboard. Now I'm using Android's keyboard and it still happens.

And the apps it happens with is any app that requires me to type lol

This has something to do with using the keyboard and posting or loading media while playing music. But the developer options may help. Android by default limits background process. And with only a gig of ram it's a sham. To become a developer you must first

1) Open your settings and scroll down to about phone
2) From the about phone tab scroll down to build number and select it.
3) Back out of About Phone and You'll see Developer Options.
4) Click Developer Options and Scroll down to Background Processes.
5) By Default Standard Limit Should Be Selected. You would then select the highest number of background processes.

What this may and should do is allow your music player to stay open longer while multitasking.

(Note: The prolonged use of the Chrome browser may cause the Music Player to foreclose)

Hope This Is Helpful to Everyone as this has solved my multitasking issue.

No matter whether I'm using Pandora or amp music player, when I try to do anything through my browser or internet related apps, it shuts off my music. It's really annoying. I'm a multitasker

If this problem has not been resolved please check my previous post. Make sure if this continues to happen if yu do decide this option to restart your phone. Another tip would be to Force Close Any apps your barely use in the application or apps settings. (You would have to force close apps individually). Also, using a Task Killer App won't help the background processes as this may automatically close apps in the background without your consent.

Hope this helps everyone.

OK.. i see years of posts about this issue. And people keep stating app issues. I have the same problem. I know nothing about computers or the phones. I believe its a mic issue. I crank my Harman Kardon it goes insane. i have to keep the radio way down. Unless i put the top down, even then i cant turn it up. Also when i do crank it up. i can hear the phone swapping from the cable back to the phone , then the google microphone fully engages instead of just barley trip. Then i have to bypass it and press play again.. Its a setting or glitch in the OS im thinking. Any suggestion for a fix... ... ... talk slow. :)

I am trying this or already did it, and now I am going to listen to my music and see if it helps. Thanks for the advice! I know this is an old thread but still I need to figure why my LG Optimus Fuel all of a sudden stops the music player default from playing. I sometimes use wi-fi and open apps. Maybe that is it but if that is the case then this should help it because I changed it to 4 processes from standard in background.

I found out that if you have any of the go apps installed on your phone it will cause issues with you media players like spotify, soundcloud, youtube and even netflix. Delete it off of your phone and yiu should be ok. It worked for me and i had the same issues you did for 2+ years.
