Root why does my music skip?

I have an lg g321 and every time I am connected to wifi at home, my music plays perfectly. Once I am away from home And not connected to wifi, it constantly skips. I've tried a few different music apps and nothing changes. I can really only hear good music, with no skipping, when on wifi. Why won't my music play without skipping ? Or work without wifi ? Does it have something to do with my plan? Please help..thanks

I'm going to assume you are streaming your music? If so, check the quality you have set when it's connected to 4g as opposed to WiFi. For example, in Google Music player, in the settings section, check to see what is set for "Mobile networks stream quality". There is low, normal and high. High uses more data and requires faster speeds to get the high quality sound. If it's set to normal, try setting it to low.

There's just not enough information you are giving at this time, but I'm going to assume based on what you said, you are streaming your music and not playing it from your internal memory or SD card.

Well, I was having issues with skipping using PowerAmp and that was only with an SD card. Before, that usually was a sign that the SD card was going bad, so I purchased a new one and the skipping persisted. It was worse when listening to gapless music. There was always about a less than 1/2-second pause between the songs. On live albums and for mixes like Trance and such, it was annoying.

After much searching, I found a new application called GoneMAD and the skipping went away. For some reason, PowerAMP, which used to handle gapless playback from SD cards just fine, doesn't appear to work that well for me anymore, no matter what tweaks I did.

So, in my case, it was the app. Just found this out last month.

I know this is old, but I want to say that PowerAmp has had a beta version out for a long time and the author has rewritten the audio engine, rather than using the default engine supplied with Android. The "skipping" has gone away and PowerAmp is back to it's glorious and flawless gapless playback.

As great as GoneMAD was, I did notice that the audio from it was "tinny" at times (not much bass) and also sounded muffled. PowerAmp has always had a crisp, clear sound to it, and that was really noticeable once I switched to the beta PowerAmp.
