Help Why does my phone battery drain when I'm out?

When I'm home my phone battery drains 1% per hour, but when I'm out, it drains 4-5% per hour and I don't use it. I have a Samsung galaxy avant.

Try downloading Greenify in play store it might help your problem..
Greenify hibernates apps that you dont use...try it it might help yah!

When I'm at home, sometimes it drains every 40 mins. Other times it drains every hour or every hour and a half. I don't use the phone. It's just on idle.

I don't use the phone when I tried this out. Sometimes the battery drains every 40 mins. Other times it drains every hour.

The battery is constantly draining while unplugged no matter what.
Now, things that can affect battery when idle:
Signal strength (ota or wifi)
App synchronization
Background processes.
Undesired wakelocks (due to misbehaving apps)

The best thing to do is this. Download the app, Gsam Battery Monitor.
User Guide for Gsam.
Fully charge the device, unplug, and let it sit idle, if possible.
After several hours, open Gsam and monitor what is using the battery.
You can even post screenshots here if desired to decipher what's going on.

Yeah my battery has 3 bars constantly in my house. If I turn on wi fi calling, will that help? I will download that app now.

How long does your battery typically last?
Edit: sorry, I got booted off the internet for a bit....are you saying, your battery lasts 40 minutes or sometimes an hour before going to zero?

My battery now lasted 1% for 40 mins. It usually varies from 40 to 1 hour per 1 percent...and this is what that app told me drains my battery:

Also I'm having another problem. I restarted my phone while it was charging and the battery dropped from 100 to 99% when it restarted. What could cause this?

Hm this is strange. It only drains when I have 100 percent battery, but when I restarted at 99%, it didn't drain. Why do you think that happened?
