Why does nearly every celeb use a iphone

Just curious as to why almost eveery famous person uses a iphone.

Everyone I follow on twitter is a iphone user other than lbj and jay z

But both of them are samsung sponsored.

In thinking of getting a nexus 5 and selling my 5s but then when i see everyone with iPhones always ales me wanna switch back

Why does that make you want to switch back though? It shouldn't matter what phone others are using, choose the device based on its merits and features rather than choosing it based on whether or not others may or may not use it.

Because they're too stupid to learn Android?

I have always thought about this. What do you need to learn when buying an android phone? Same buttons for on/off, volume control etc... Are there any special things that no other phones have? If you buy an iPhone, you need to learn the os. If you buy a wp, you need to learn the os. And when you buy an android phone, you need to learn the os.

Basically they all work in a similar way. Samsung Touchwiz is easy to use, iOS7 looks like Android nowadays with similar options and dragging down menus... So when someone says "i cant use an android phone!" what does it mean in a real life? Lazy to power it up? Lazy to tap the screen and see what happens? Afraid of breaking the new device by tapping a wrong area of the screen? Or maybe they have heard that Android is so difficult to use and it is only for nerds? Or what?

I think there's a widespread perception that "Apple is easy" and everything else is harder. Add that to status symbol cachet, and you have a device that shallow people will choose (also people who just don't want to think about it much because they aren't necessarily gadget buffs).

I also think there is the general (wrong) perception that Apple is just better... The idea that more expensive = better product that is not always true.

This is very much how Gucci works IMO, but unfortunately so many people believe it. ..why is it nearly every celeb or spawn of new money seems to be sporting a Gucci handbag?

I wouldn't be surprised if they were given free phones and paid by Apple to use them publicly as a form of endorsement/advertising/product placement.

Not to be a party pooper here, but hey...the phone does look and feel good in the hands.

I love Android ... but i also admire Apple built qualities. Just being honest. And don't you judge me. :D

Why should you even care what you see a celebrity using? Use something because you like it, not because someone famous uses it.

Ppl always think iPhones don't have issues. Well they do trust me. There updates never go smoothly. There is always call issues after an iOS update. It doesn't happen with everyone but its enough to make it annoying. It really shouldn't matter why they use it. When you ask iPhone users why they have it they always say its an iPhone and most of them have never had anything else. Its never BC of the features or what the phone can do like when you ask someone who uses android. They have multiple reasons for why they chose that phone.

My guess as well. Just like when they were designer dresses and $500,000 dollar necklaces that are loaned to them for award shows.

Don't buy the phone just because they have one.

It's called Gift Bags and Gift Tents. apple is deeply in bed with Hollywood (see Disney stock ownership) and has been for a long time. They started tech product placement and still lead.

At major events they are always giving free apple products to celebrities. More than any other tech company.

So that's why Apple stuff is so overpriced, to fund the gifting to celebrities, who could easily afford to buy their own stuff...

I use Android and I'm a celebrity (in my own mind I'm a rockstar). I'm pretty sure Robert Downey Jr. uses Hipster Troll Carwash, or whatever. Ashton Kutcher is working with Lenovo.

But, yeah. I agree. What's it matter what anybody else uses? I use Android because it suits me. It works so much better for all that I need and more. I only care what other people are using so far as if they are using an Android device, I want to help them use it to the fullest. I love helping people out with that stuff.

Because it's more User Friendly. don't get butt hurt at that comment it's true. That is how IOS got so big was the friendliness of the UI.

If you had to give someone that isn't tech savvy a phone to use and they needed to pick it up and run with it. Which would you give them? An iPhone or an Android phone that you have to tinker with for three hours to get it set up the way you like it and also to reboot it everyday and then you have to explain to them why certain apps aren't available on it but they are available on their friends iPhone.

Sure that used to be true for Cupcake and Donut. Especially if someone was coming from something like a Nokia E51. Not these days with Jellybean, and now Kitkat, especially if you get a half decent phone and don't cheap out on one...like $40. Sure all the "certain apps" one might need are available no problem. If you need something like iMessage or Facetime, then you need an iPhone because those are Apple products and proprietary to iOS.

Product placement is what Apple do the most. Look at all the Macs you see in movies. If they ever show a PC, it's often some fictitious made-up UI rather then identifiable as Windows. Sony Vaio does a lot of movie product placement as well though. But then Sony has a lot of Hollywood involvement as well, Columbia Pictures.

Sometimes Macs are chosen over PCs for movies and TV, because they look nice on camera. In fact Microsoft has been caught out by that a couple of times for their promotional stuff because whatever agency they used, has used Apple computers as props during the filming. Microsoft Songsmith was one, and you can clearly see they're using a Macbook Pro.

I'd give them an HTC that virtually never requires a reboot and is set up in minutes by anyone not tech savvy thanks to the onscreen setup overlays.

Sorry Android didn't work out for you.

If you'd like to see an iPhone 4, 4s and 5 that haven't worked right since iOS 7 was introduced, have lost contacts, playlists and don't have the apps I do, I'll direct you to 3 of my family members who are ready to barbecue theirs.

Don't get all butthurt but your remarks are really silly.

Perhaps that's why over 81% of the smartphones sold worldwide in the 3rd quarter of this year were Android - maybe some people prefer one over the other.

So how did it lose its market share to Android? :hmmmm2:

I must have special edition Android phones--the kind that run forever without needing to be rebooted. The last time I rebooted I was forced to because its battery died (and my power was out so I wasn't able to charge the phone all day).

and then you have to explain to them why certain apps aren't available on it but they are available on their friends iPhone.
Reminds me of window$ users who expect window$ programs to be available on Linux. Nope. Doesn't work that way. Or vice versa. When you use a particular OS, you get the apps that are available for that OS. If you drive a Ferrari, you don't expect Lamborghini accessories to fit it.
