Root why does overclock go back down at reboot

so i am running Reppards CM7.1 and i change the clocked cpu speeds to 806 and idk if it works or not but everytime i reboot it goes back down to 600 so i am wondering if there is anything that will keep it at 806 when rebooting and it doesent seem to change much when i change it so yeah and i have not changed the kernal at all so do i need to change the kernal if so to which one?

U can dowload setCPU from the market & that will put it back after u boot. But in a way its a good thing that it resets on every boot in case you overclock it too much your phone won't be stuck on a on the boot screen

I run Reppards Rom myself and use SetCPU form the market as suggested by alex. Set it at the OC spped you want, check set on boot and those settings will stay good until you decide to change them, governor and all.
