Why does the Atrix have to be on ATT?

I really like Motorola hardware, regardless of Blur (since I can root it), but every since ATT went tiered data I am so torn. The atrix really looks appealing, but I hate the idea of tiered data, and whiel I might be able to come to terms with it at some poitn ATT is too damn greedy, they really are trying to push people into the $45 plan as with the 2GB plan the increments are 250MB, are they nuts! Just looking to vent a bit here.

Just get an original iPhone (2g) and activate on unlimited data. Then transfer to the Atrix. Bam, you have found a backdoor way to get unlimited data on AT&T. I did this about 4 months ago. Worked well.

My 2GB plan is $25 and I never go over. Pandora, podcast, and download stuff all the time. Everyone will be following in AT&T's footsteps soon.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you take the 2GB plan and simply do all of your heavy downloading through wifi? I have a home wifi setup, and all of my android phones are setup to use it, while I'm home. The wifi download would not count against your 2GB limit - right?

If I am going to do wifi I'll use my iPad2, I want portable bandwidth while on the road

what do u mean by increments of 250mb? there are 3 different plans, a 15 dollar plan for 200mb, a 25 dollar plan for 2gb and 45 for 4gb. for most people it works out cheaper doing it at&t's way unless u are one of the 2% that use more than 2gb......

I just check and must have made a mistake, I thought I read that after 2GB you get billed in 250MB increments, but I can't find that now, maybe it was one of their other plans.

People freak out all the time about the 2GB plan. It's funny because I've encountered maybe 2-3 people out of hundreds that actually use 2GB or more.

If you stick to wi-fi at home/work/school you should never have a problem with a 2GB data plan.

2GB for $25 is way cheaper than the 500mb that the Big 3 Carriers in Canada are charging for the same price!
