Help Why does videocalling not work?

Videocalling is an inbuilt option when you want to call someone, so I guess you should be able to just do that without installing FRING or SKYPE or some other app. Here is my situation: my brother and I have both the Galaxy S2 and from the same provider, but videocalling does not work on mobile network nor on wifi. Any ideas how to make it work? Thanks in advance

im also having this problem. do u get the 'unable to make video call. try voice call intead?' message? coz i subscribed to the video calling add-on on my provider (theyre charging me a fee every month for this) but i get this msg. btw, it wont work on wifi. u need a 3G connection (3G or H symbol on ur notification bar) as it wont work on GPRS/EDGE either. but i tried it with a strong 3G/H connection n my cam opened, n then i got the message i mentioned above. wonder wats wrong

Yes that is the message I get too... Subscriptionwise I don't know about a special video call package, I pay for unlimited data so that should not be the issue. Well you seemed to at least be able to get the cam to pop up, I never even got that far lol

well over here, u need to subscribe n they charge u at a rate of a couple of cents per minute (higher than voice call obviously :D ) n i dont get billed for it as part of my data connection. maybe u could check it out with ur provider..

and google talk's video call thing comes with gingerbread 2.3.4 right? i heard that there's a version of google talk on xda that supports video but requires root, i guess thats wat u mean? :)
