Why doesn't browser return to previous page at correct location ?

I don't understand this. When you hit the back button after following a link, you go back to the previous page, but not where you left off. The browser seems to just throw you somewhere near the top of the page. Is there a settings fix for this, or is it just how it works?

xScope browser does the same thing - I'd like to know the fix as well...

I just tested it on mine(both stock and xScope Lite), and it worked. Put me back exactly where I left it.

I'm on 2.2 if that makes a difference.

Great question. I'm using Dolphin HD and this has been bothering me for a while. Hope 2.2 fixes this.

i cant say what websites but there have been some that go back to the top, and others that go back to wherever i was. 2.1 no root using dolphin hd

its like hit or miss.

sometimes it goes back to a random location near the top and sometimes it goes back right to where i was. kind of annoying.

why does it need to reload tha page also. shouldnt it be in the cache?

I really like Dolphin HD...but then again I've only ever used it and stock and stock sucked.

If there is a better one what makes it better than Dolphin HD?

You can add tags to web pages that let older and less advanced browsers go back to a specific location on a previous or bookmarked page. That is why some pages will take you back where you were and others will not. There is software in your browser and software within each web page.

I normally just long press on the link then choose the open in new window option. When I'm done with that page I hit the physical back button on the phone and I'm right back where I was.
