Why I might choose the Transform over the Optimus S

Transform: I hate the physical keyboard. I hate how laggy it is. It's 2.1 instead of Froyo.

The Optimus S is better on all three counts. So why might I choose the Transform?

The SAR value (specific absorption rate) for the Transform at head level is 0.75. The value for the Optimus S is much higher, just less than double: 1.26.

We're talking radiation here. The maximum allowed SAR by the government is 1.6.

Do cell phones cause cancer? I don't know. Do I want to err on the side of caution? You bet.

Well the simple fact is u need a phone you like, I got the Transform because I wanted a keyboard and a nice processer, the Transform was just what I needed, and I could wait for 2.2 because I know that the Transform's 800mghz processer is faster than the Optimus S 600mghz processer even if its dual core. I got the phone I wanted and you need to do the same man, for whatever your reasons are :P

I also bought the Transform for its capabilities once it receives 2.2. I wanted to go with an epic but found out we aint getting 4G for quite some time in my area.....

The transform has the potential to be a truly stellar phone, but 2.1 is really killing it....

A friend of mine had 2.1 on his phone, the model escapes me, but he received 2.2 update and said his phone is almost twice as fast and uses less battery.

Cross our fingers it will do the same for the Transform....

i was really going to get the transform until i saw that samsung wasn't going to update it by the end of the year as promised. also i noticed it has the same cpu as the moment. i have a moment and it is terrible it lags way too much. i currently have the optimus s and it blows my moment. if it had a physical keyboard it would be the most perfect phone me and my needs. i'm torn between the two. the optimus s has better specs, ie ram, cpu, and an actual gpu. the transform has bigger screen, and keyboard. i'm considering getting the htc evo shift 4g. though i hate paying $10 tax for 4g, believe me even though sprint says its not. it is.
