Why I will buy the Fire.

Gorilla Glass
Dual Core
It's now rooted
Custom roms very soon so full Android Unlocked OS functionality
199$

I mean come on it's worth it. Custom roms are going to start appearing and all the nay sayers will be like, "Oh it's a good buy". The only drawback is there isn't an sd slot. But I mean if you want that pay 50-100 more and get a tablet with a slot that is of similar quality. Or get a Coby. I'll be getting it for the nice gorilla glass, the dual core and the fact I will be able to custom rom it. :/

Yea you can't beat it for this price. The only thing close is the Nook tablet at $250.

Once they root it with one click and its all stable I am sure you can use android market and almost everything you can use on any other tablet.

It's called the HTC Flyer. I mean if you want to root the thing then get the Flyer it's better. If you want Amazon get the Kindle

I was just looking at that Flyer. I like HTC products - I've had an Eris and an Incredible 2. But the cheapest I've seen the Flyer is 300 bucks. That's another $100 for Sense, a camera and an sd slot. I don't think so.

As I see it, the difference between the Kindle Fire and real Android tablets is the difference between media consumption and media creation, plus of course lack of GPS. Also, if like the Nook, you will only have access to applications that must be paid for.

For the price though, if you don't need things like a mic, camera/camcorder, or GPS, the Fire looks like a sweet deal as long as you can access the full Android Market.

root. install android market. and opera browser and this tablet is fantastic. I got.mine for less than 100 because I am an audible subscriber
