Why I'm getting this phone:

To be honest...one of the reason why i lower things down to such a low common denominator is that i DO consider myself to be "joe average phone user"

Things like reliability, easy to use interface, battery use with LIGHT TO AVERAGE use, etc ARE IMPORTANT TO ME.

This is why i get into debates when people go off on tangents that its not the FASTEST THEORETICAL bandwith or it wont perform as good as a dual core in some future game or OS thats not released yet...those are all extreme views and extreme arguments...even for a 'phone enthusiast" like me.

I mean..COME ON.. I am here because i travel all the time and am married to my phone...and am very much looking forward to upgrading but if your concerns about this phone are THAT FAR OUT THERE...go build one your self or find one that costs $2,000 thats a quad core and that runs on a network thats too expensive for the rest of us.... (what i am trying to say is...BE REALISTIC please).

Like Han solo said "She may not look fast but shes got it where it counts"

this is how i feel as a "phone geek" people seem to forget that the little things that reach the extremes mean almost nothing to us geeks in reality and definitely mean nothing to the average person. Yet they still obsess over these inane points just to find something to stress over.

Its made by HTC-Amazing quality device that actually updates their products

Sense 2.0 and all the actual convenient options it offers

4.3 inch screen- Been waiting forever for one on ATT, that is made by HTC and not a windows phone

ANDROID-Simply the best

NOT APPLE-Had all 4 generations and hated feeling like a child that was 'grounded' and couldnt change or do anything I wanted to the phone. Plus Apple owners believe they have the best thing in the world when in all reality their product is outdated and faaaar behind the curve. I call it blind uneducated loyal fanboyism with no research to back up their opinion

Android and HTC are just a beautiful combination especially with a 4.3 inch screen. I cant even wait, this is the phone ive been waiting on for what seems to be forever so it was a no brainer when CES came around.

Plus see my sig.. lol

Why I'm getting this phone? Because it's Android, for starters. I was an original Android adopter. I went from my G1, to a Blackberry Bold 9700, to a Nexus One, and then to an iPhone 4. The thing is, no matter what I do, or what OS I use, I still tend to come back to Android. This time around, I won't be leaving Android for another OS. Not that impressed with WebOS, not at all impressed with Windows Phone 7. Been there done that with Blackberry and iOS. Clearly, I'm an Android guy. I see no reason to leave the OS I've watched mature from day one.

A few other reasons:
-Unmatched customizations
-Bigger screen
-Made by HTC, so the build quality should be top notch
-No walled garden's
*Sidenote: I have nothing against Apple. I have (and love) my 13" MacBook Pro. They are very innovative, and their approach to hardware and software being built and developed under one roof is something a few companies should take note of. But I don't like their approach with the iPhone anymore. I want full control of my phone. The iPhone is Steve Jobs vision of how his homescreen should look. Clearly, other people may decide that they want their homescreen to be blank, have widgets, etc. If the iPhone gave me the options to do such stuff, I would probably be just fine. I don't wanna look at all of my apps all of the time. And the notification system sucks. /rant

My only problem giving up iphone is netflix and hulu. I watch these a lot due to my weird hours at work and frankly i like those services ( not here to debate them ). Im going to have both, after the 450 purchase, my bill will just be 30 a month extra cause of discounts and such. My iphone was free ( won a raffle).

Now as soon as android has a full blown service with these guys then my iphone will be retired. They need to run where i dont need to unlock root or what ever you guys do to them. I have no interest. I love the native speech to text and watching movies on that lovely screen.

Look forward to this phone. )

You could use the iPhone without a sim if you have wifi where you work. That's what I plan to do with an iPod Touch.

i like the phone because it...um does apps....i can play angry birds on it! it also has the 4gees like the iphone 4g which i like a lot. the screen is nice because it is android which is fun to make icons on my desktop like iphone.

I getting this phone based on the following

- The Phone's spec's
- Made by HTC
- That I can now get a decent Android phone on ATTWS
- HTCSense.com (don't under estimate the value of this)
- Should decide that I want to go back to my iPhone 4 I can without having to port my number back to ATT

- Screen size
- Build quality/materials
- the OS
- reputation of HTC

Anyone that has Apple listed in one of their reasons should really consider a reassessment of their life.

Buy a phone for the features it has, not because of an association it does or doesn't have with something. I really feel sorry for those that "hate" a company like that - kind of sad.
