Help why is it "searching for GPS"?

I often turn on my screen and see the target icon in the top bar. Open the notification pull-down and it reads "Searching for GPS".

What is telling the phone to check it's GPS coordinates? Or is it just having trouble locating the GPS signal (troubling)?

I am using Juice Defender and wasn't sure if it was behind this message or not.

This seems to happen to me a lot, as well. It usually disappears within seconds of me pulling done the notification bar, though. I wonder what keeps using it.

I am here: Google Maps

Yes...mine disappears as well rather quickly but I'd like to know what is causing it to obtain my GPS location.

Maybe the feds

Check all of your apps. One of your apps wants your GPS location and it looks like it is set to try and refresh when the screen is turned on. And by every app, I mean even the ones like the News and Weather widget that were already on the phone.
