Why is it taking forever to release this?

Didn't they officially introduce this product on September 1st? Why is it that it's taking over 2-3 months to get this thing on the carriers?

I am a bit new to Android phones but are they always like this??

Isn't it more profitable to just announce the product... create hype... set pre-order date and then ship the products promptly? Apple does this and they rake in money and sell A LOT of iPhones. It works.

So why not just do the same thing? Are there issues with the product?

Same thing seems to be happening with the Galaxy Nexus. No release date. No pre-order date. (at least for U.S. carriers)

Sorry about all the questions... just getting frustrated with all the delays.

October 11 does make sense for a release date of a phone that was announced on September 1.

I really don't get what's up with Samsung and/or these carriers.

Other companies like Apple and Motorola have been very prompt with their official announcement, pre-order date, price-info and release dates.

I don't mind waiting and dishing out the money but give us a freaking release date already.

i think its because the carries ant sure weather they want it or not coz look at the dell streak in the uk only o2 had it properly because none of the rest wanted it and remember the note is a larger phone than any on the market they the carriers most prob look at the streak then then look how it did not very well, i could be wrong its only my opinion

I think you make a very good point here; I hope the carriers realize that this is a much better product than the streak, and that we (android community) actually want this product pretty badly. Very much considering importing it if its not released state side.

wow, I swear if that's the case... these carriers are super dumb.

Nobody buys Dell because it's Dell. Other than their lower prices, their computers are crap. In terms of laptops, Apple makes way better laptops. For desktops, it's more efficient and logical to custom build with the parts you want. I've had their computers before and it feels super cheap.

They should realize that whoever has the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Nexus first will have a lot of buyers and garner more interest.

These are obviously the NEXT GEN phones. Easily surpassing iPhone 4S (whose ahead in sales already).

It used to be more cost efficient to build your own desktops. I proudly built my own during the years of 1985 through 2005, have the knuckle scars to prove I set my own dipswitches and swapped out motherboards...however nowadays it is cheaper to buy pre-built. I had to turn in my Geek Merit Badge though :D

I am still a gamer so pre-built isn't enough for me. Somewhere, somehow... they always cut corners to sell it a little cheaper.
