Help Why is my battery use so confusing?

I have a Note 2... there are a few things that I hate about it, but the one that drives me crayz is when the battery decides to last for 1day. (I've gotten up to like 8.5 days out of it..)

I installed Waze on my phone hoping to use it soon, but even tho I closed it cleared memory several times, my battery % is just dropping...
This was similar with Kik, but that got uninstalled.
These programs do not show up in the battery usage log.
I have just about everything turned off and powersaver to the max.
Even if I clear memory atleast 1 program restarts right after the msg of how many programs
where closed and I hit the button again.

Why do these android programs still run even when they not supposed to, and don't write in the battery log?
I've got facebook and Snapchat and those don't seem to be taking any toll on my battery, but very sure they run constantly.
 
What does your battery monitor tell you is using the power? If you need more detail, try installing something like GSam Battery Monitor, which can give you a lot more information than the built-in app.

There's a difference between an app being loaded into memory and an app actively running. If it is not showing up in your usage log then it's almost certainly not the cause of your battery drain.
 
I installed battery doctor and GSam battery, it seems to have calmed down after installing those.
I know I did a battery optimization once in battery doctor, not sure if thats what fixed it or not.
It seems to be working fine now... weird phone...
 
I'd lose battery doctor tbh. I doubt if that's what's improving your battery life (maybe a placebo effect?)
 
Not to mention, I just read some of battery doctor's reviews and it seems to have pretty intrusive advertising, plus it's developed by a fairly questionable group.

And you only have to read some of even it's positive reviews to see what EarlyMon is getting at. "apps keep starting 5mins after bd kills them" etc..
