Help Why is my phone no longer wifi capable?

I have an LG Ally. I cancelled my plan in November, I think, but for like 2 months even though I couldn't surf the internet with my data plan, I could still turn on wifi and use that. But all of the sudden, it said it was "unable to scan for networks" and when I looked at my MAC address, it said it was unavailable. Is it because I cancelled it? Is there any way to fix this? Thank you!

Is your phone rooted? Are you running a custom ROM? Have you recently flashed a new ROM?

No, it's not rooted, and I don't have any ROMs cause I don't really understand what they are...I mean I tried looking it up, but I'm not good at technology. Lol.
