Root Why is root so hard to do?

I can do it, But it takes me so long to get it to catch. Im talking an hour or more! It is a simple three step process isnt it? Am i doing something wrong?

My phone is DJ05. It needs to be rooted again because i messed up something last night.

My drivers are installed on the pc. I have to have the update.zip file on my card. Which i do.

I plug in the phone to the pc and usb. I have the correct boxes checked in my applications / Development

I open the file fascinateRoot and i run it.

The phone shuts off and restarts. i wait 5 minutes for it to tell me it failed. Error. device not found.

Why does it do this all the time?

hmmm...some people just have problems rooting dj05 for whatever reason....you can manually do it in adb if thats the case....one other thought...check your internal storage in settings under sd card and phone storage....if it says 0.0 internal could be a voodoo bork and thats why root wont take
 
My card has nothing on it at all. just the update.zip file. UH OH! What and when did files go missing?

Clockwork Mod
DCIM .... nothing is in that folder
LOST DIR
update.zip
 
i can not get in to anything. I see the internal phone storage.
Available Space 1.51 GB but i can not open it to see anything.
 
What is ADB? Hard to learn? I cant sit here and run this exe file all day. Wait 5 minutes for each one to find out it is a read error. It gets annoying fast.
 
Man. I gotta stop screwing stuff up so i dont have to learn so much! lol Thanks for the link. I am looking at it now.
 
well. That other method is downloading and updating. It says 440 minutes.. joy
So in the meantime i am playing with odin.
DJ05 wont root.

I put back DI01. Thats not rooting either.
Whats left? DH12.

Geez im striking out.
