Why is the international version of the Galaxy S2 so ugly?

Why is the international version so ugly? I hate the solid home button, I hate the huge bulky square design. It looks a lot more worst than the Infuse 4G. And the word "galaxy" doesn't appeal to its design. It looks like it should be named the "LG Bulk".

I don't consider it ugly, just different. Samsung in all its wisdom decided on different form factors for different markets. This philosophy played hell with the case makers. I believe Samsung dropped that philosophy with the introduction of the Galaxy S3. Now the form factor remains the same across all carriers.
