Help Why is there a limited amount of Application space?

I noticed you can only install a certain amount of apps and it maxes out...is it not possible on android where it allows to install apps on SD card?

Settings>Applications>Manage Applications. Go into an app and most of them should allow you to move them to SD card.

I do not know how many aps you have, but it seems you would need A LOT to fill up all the space on the Atrix.

I agree. 2Gb for apps should be plenty of space. I have like over 60 apps on my phone with around 1.30 GB of space left for apps and 10.71 GB of Internal storage. I have a 16GB card for my music, documents and pictures.

Is there any downside to moving apps to the SD ? Are there some that shouldn't be moved ?

Widgets won't work if stored on the SD card. That's the only limitation of which I'm aware.
