Help Why isn't my info in "people"?

I know, kind of a strange question, but hear me out.

So since this is an Android phone everything essentially is linked to Google. No problem, I use tons of Google stuff: Gmail, Picasa, Google+, etc. So my Google account has my phone number, my birthday, my account picture, etc.

So how come when you open your People app, your info isn't already all filled out in your profile on your phone? Other peoples' Google account pictures show up automatically, other peoples' email, phone number and birthdays all show up automatically. If my phone is connected to my Google account, how come my own stuff doesn't show up?

Just something I found a little strange.

Mine is. Its at the top of the list. It has my name and underneath it says my profile and its linked to fb.

I've wondered this too. I can't get mine to link to FB either. You can add some personal info (b-day, phone numbers, e-mail) - but it won't link to google or FB like the rest of the contacts.

Tap on your contact > menu > edit > tap arrow on your name at the top, it should give you three options: My profile, Facebook and Edit. I have Facebook selected and it links to Facebook. Hope this helps

Hmmm...are you rooted? Don't know if that would make a difference, I'm running stock. I am curious though, so I think I will be checking coworkers phones out over the next couple of days.

I just accidentally installed (or perhaps activated) a different version of Facebook - and now all my FB info is synced into my contact. I had no clue this would happen. I think it's FB for HTC sense - but I'm not sure. Looks like I have 3 different FB apps and I can't be sure which one took over to provide this info. It happened when I was trying to post a pic to FB - and it gave me three different FB options to choose from. It has also added some other features to my contacts.

I do not get those options.

I don't get those either. When I tap on another person's entry in my People list there info page comes up. On that page I have the option in the upper right corner of linking them to another contact (like their facebook account) but I don't have that option on my profile page. If I go to edit my profile there is an arrow next to my name in the upper right corner, hower tapping that arrow only gives my the option of adding a name prefix, suffix, etc.

Just seems strange to me that your Google Account info isn't already set in your profile.

Open your settings>accounts and sync and open the Facebook entry. In there you should have the option of selecting who from FB shows up in your People list.

This happened to me when I first got my phone. I know you don't want to hear this but what solved my problem was a factory reset...


You can try to log out/in of you're fb or g+ account or delete/reset that account in your sync accounts menu or delete/reinstall that app before the factory reset. Good luck
