Why isn't there a decent music player and pc sync program?

very true, the problem is 1/2 the music I have is in FLAC, 1/2 the music is Mp3 V0. Cant remember which is which, so if i select 40 albums to send to the phone it would be nice for the FLACs to be transcoded to V0 on the fly.

I dont really need to have FLAC on the phone, just for my archival purposes.

You could try something like MediaMonkey or JRiver Media Center. Both transcode on the fly when syncing/copying. I wasn't happy with smart playlists on MediaMonkey, though. I haven't tried JRiver Media Center in ages either. Songbird might nowadays (native or via plugin), but the website is blocked at work so I can't check.

Here's what I do:

1. Create a folder under /sdcard/Music with the same name as my playlist.
2. Go to that playlist in iTunes.
3. Select all songs.
4. Drag to target folder.
5. Playing with Meridian, under its Prefs, I tell it to Organize by Albums.
6. Meridian then thinks I have an album by my playlist name.

Yeah. I know. Arcane.

My stock player just uses my standard Windows Media Player lists... ? Just drag those into the music folder with the songs and poof... instant playlists?

just use isyncr for syncing your itunes library and the stock android player for playing. Works fine for me. Doubletwist sux.

Worked for me and very simple.

Drag all of your music into a music folder you create on the sdcard. It doesn't matter if its sorted into individual folders or not. Then just create all your playlists in windows media player.

Playlists are located in my music > my playlists. Just drag them into your music folder and voila, playlists show up and find the correct music in the stock music app. No 3rd party apps or programs needed.

I ended up deleting Doubletwist. It has a long ways to go before I'd use it again. Great concept, but way too buggy.
