Help Why my 8GB Micro SD is full?

If anyone can help me. My 8GB micro SD card is full. I only some pictures and not even 1.5GB of music on there.

There is a file that has over 4 GB on it. The path is E:\.data\navigator\Data\Maps They are CMAP files. they are really big files. What are they for and can I delete them?

I know I can buy another card but what for if it's not full from the stuff I want on there. Doesn't make sence to me.

Thanks to anyone with any help or ideas on how to clean up my micro SD card.

I assume the file will have something to do with a navigation app on there, I have Google maps and it isn't storing that much info so it must be another type. What network are you on, it could be one they pre-installed on the phone.
I would think you should be able to get rid of it in some way and just use something else for maps.
Maybe not a great idea to just go bulldozing in there and deleting it, perhaps someone has more help with how to remove it properly.

Yes I'm on the Telus network in Canada. I use Google maps for everything anyways.

I was looking to see if anyone else had this or knows anything.

Thanks for yr help so far.

Well I would think this 4GB file would be part of pre-installed software that Telus ship with the phone and they are not removable unless you root the phone.

You should be able to remove those files just fine. It would be best to move them to your PC rather than deleting them, however, just in case.

But yeah, I have heard of other people that have found massive files on their sdcard thanks to the built in nav app. You shouldn't need the files if you don't use said app.

The files you're asking about are for the HTC Locations navigation app that comes pre-installed on the phone. You can delete these files if you're not using Locations and, if you decide you want to re-install them at a later date, you can do so from within the Locations program.
