Why no love for iPhone?

Am I the only one here who likes iPhones? If the iPhone came to metro (and Apple wasn't being an asshole and suing everyone) I'd probably buy it. Maybe I'm saying this because I've never actually used an Android device with ICS or higher but texting is all I do. And texting on the iPhone is kinda perfect. Maybe if I was on a more reliable carrier (due to the fact that I miss texts all the time and texts received over 160 characters get split up into parts and I don't get the second part and higher for a couple hours), with a high-end Android, I probably wouldn't want the iPhone.

What are you reasons for disliking the iPhone? And why you wouldn't want it on metro. And if you do like it and want it on metro then say why you do too! (Let's just assume they weren't suing everyone and being an asshole)

well first theyre stingy unlike android where you can have your own roms and android is waaaay more customizable i had the iPod 2g and it needed to be jailbroken to customize it also it was slow and laggy so i just traded it for a PSP lol that was stupid but oh well lol but ummm yea me its just the customizability and also it has a stupid homescreen compared to android so android beats apple in everyway since i can't customize my phone/tab/media player right now i would say that my phone LG MOTION beats the iPhone overall imo its smooth, slick, nice design, and just great quality

Well to me, the iPhones are expensive and I like customizing my phone. IPhones can't really be customized as opposed to any android device I've ever owned. If you could customize iPhones and put roms, make it faster, and possibly overclock I might consider. But since you can't, I'm staying with android.

Everyone always says they like to customize the phone and yes, that's true. But I don't. I always stay on stock. Or a CM ROM which is basically stock.

the technology of the top iphone is vastly inferior to that of the top android phones while costing more. hell, the top iphone gets beat out by many mid-grade androids.

LG motion >> iphone 4s.
evo v >> iphone 4s.

an iphone does nothing to justify the price discrepancy. all of apple's products are unjustifiably overpriced.

oh dont forget speeding up your phone everyone likes their phone faster than when it comes out the box

Definitely. I read somewhere that the iPhone costs them like $208 to make yet they sell it for around $800

The Retina Display would be the one aspect of the phone that beats most Android. Only a few phones have actually beat the 326 ppi. That's just ppi though. The amoled and other displays are much more gorgeous and look better. The 720p resolution isn't bad either

the most important reason i dont want it on metro is apple charges a ton for the "privilege" of having it on your network.unless metro would be able to sell a lot and i do mean a lot of iphones they would never make back their investment.they have better things to spend that money on anyways like improving lte where i live.

I am just going to point out this is a android forum =p. This is akind to asking on a Apple forum what they think of android.

Now on to the questions. Personally I played with a apple phone and its locked down and slow. Basically with Apple your paying for a name nothing more.

Android is a far more open platform being based on Linux.

As far as Metro service goes I have zero issues with mine in fact I am very pleased with it. Perhaps you should give metro a call? Could be a Phone issue or network issue they could help you resolve.

In addition to the w its a overprice, inferior and stone age tech, and worst of all a facist ecosystem. And how can ai forget produced by the most cheapest and hypocrit corporation if the world. And my points are just strongly proven each year by Apple's action.

Apple is losing momentum with the iPhone. On the bigger carriers where phone prices are similar due subsidies it isn't as noticeable. On a prepaid carrier without any phones it works. On Metro itd have some trouble. I'm sure it'd still sell, but there's be plenty of cheaper, better alternatives.

Have you ever tried Handcent? I have seen the stock iOS SMS app and I would say that Handcent is better. That along with a better keyboard like SwiftKey makes Android much better in my opinion. The other stuff is Metro, not Android.

One more thing, all texts are a max of 160 characters. That is a limitation of the technology, absolutely nothing to do with your OS.

The IPhone is a nice piece of hardware. For me, the screen is too small causing me to make a lot errors when I type. Also, I like to replace the launcher on my phone sometimes, which is something you can't do on the IPhone. Basically the phone is locked down as far as customization goes.

I never owned anything apple. I remember when the ipod first came out and my friend got one and askes me to load some music on it for him. I didn't like how you had to download and install itunes just to do it. I was thinking there must be an easier way, and there was. Other mp3 players let you simplydrag and drop, as how it should be. They were cheaper and they came with buttons. Touchscreen for an mp3 player is such a horrible invention. When listening to music i like to just reach into my pocket to ffw or bbw songs. Taking it out of your pocket turning on the screen and toggling is just way too many steps. How do people do that jogging. Anyways i decided way back then that apple just sucks.

I wasn't saying it was the OS. Apple does have iMessage though. That helps because it's over data, not gsm or cdma

I like the customization of android. Plus I like my larger screen for movies & games. Now, I know the new iphone 5 is supposed to be a 4" screen. But so what. It still can't compare to an android.

The iphone is boring... the OS hasn't really changed in the past few years and everyone has an iPhone. I love android because it is much more customizable and i probably wont have the same phone as the guy sitting next to me.
I only applaud the iPhone because it as a good battery life. My LG connect cannot handle a full day of texting, calls, games, or internet browsing. Unless i spend the extra cash on the battery...

Exactly and I understand the battery problem, but if you bring in all the processing power all the stuff the phone is doing plus lte and stuff its understandable. But in-case of Iphone power its barely doing crap and its down-clocked too.

Honestly, the iPhone is an extremely over-priced, small screen, slow CPU speed, locked-down, uncustomizable POS - any mid-level Android device will blow it out of the water.
It's like owning a Jaguar - under-powered, undependable and problematic... but because it's overpriced and media hyped, it will turn heads and get plenty of "Ooooo's" and "Ahhhh's".

No wonder Apple wants the Galaxy SIII off the market...

"If ya can't play fair and beat the competition in the market, beat them in court with Lawyers!"

Future historians of Tech will look back and call the day that Apple won their 1.05 Bil lawsuit with Samsung as "the beginning of the end" for Apple - the end of a once-great company, that allowed Lawyers and greed to destroy it from within.
