Why no mobile version of this site?

There is Tapatalk support as well.

Also, at the bottom left of the site there is a dropdown for what style to use. There is a mobile version there. Boy is it ugly.

Course, this day and age, with these size screens, pinch to zoom, and carriers moving to 4G - I at least see no need for a mobile version. :)

It should automatically go to the mobile site.

It should automatically go to the mobile site.

Yep. When heading into many sites around, CNN, Fox News, many forum sites etc, using a phone or tab, the mobile version is loaded automatically (with the option to use full html linked somewhere on the page).

It seems to stay on phandroid skin instead of AF mobile, and when I select AF mobile it looks exactly the same, I don't even know if it's switching.

Yep it ant switching to the mobile version when I select it on my phone cause I just tried it on my PC and it works.

Hmm.. I'm going to try on my X2 and Galaxy Tab.. brb...

AF Mobile loaded great on both.. I'm wondering if you waited for the mobile version to load; it took about five full seconds to pop in, but once it did it was snappy quick to navigate.

Won't load on my phone.

Once you make that AF Mobile selection, the site will load the mobile version every time you come here until you change it back to full html.

Huh, I was always thinking this too... It really only impacts me on the androidforums.com page though, any forum or thread automatically resizes to a good resolution/spacing/format ... not sure the word there...

Also, I never knew about the skin > AF mobile - that's why I wear the noob avatar ;) :P :D

It didn't switch automagically for me either but I was able to switch the AF Mobile. Only problem is the fonts are kinda small I have to pinch bigger.

What OP said .
AF mobile fails to load .
Tested on opera mini and ,stock browser and some obscure browser.
It defaults to original phandroid skin even when you select af mobile .
Will check on dolphin HD and opera mobile after some time .

Mixed results from folks.. hmm..

..well, my Galaxy Tab is fitted with Dolphin HD, it loads the AF Mobile pages automatically here now after making that selection last night, and it looks great.

The X2 has Dolphin Mini and it's the same deal; looks nice and goes into the AF Mobile version first thing now after the change.

I prefer full HTML on mobile devices, though. Loads quickly and just navigates better than Phandroid App or Tapatalk (yuck!) or the AF Mobile selection.

It's interesting to see the differing results on this.

That little Phandroid/AF Mobile selection drop-down should be somewhere more prominent, in my opinion.. perhaps up on the blue menu bar next to the user cp, etc.
