Root Why not 2.3?

Rumors are the galaxy prevail on boost is getting updated to gingerbread but why not the intercept I've played with the prevail and IMO the intercept runs smoother and faster and has more memory so does this mean the intercept is 2.3 capable?

I don't know, it would sure be nice! Maybe Cyanogenmod 7+ for the Intercept, that would be awesome!
