Why is everyone ranting and raving over CyanogenMod?

Why not try porting AOKP?

Hell if I can find a guide I'll try doing it myself, so if anyone has compile skills and feels like teaching me I will try it myself if no one else goes for it.

This is true but in my trials with it, I have had better performance on all devices I have tried it with and I believe the developers for it push out more than CM if I am not mistaken.

They also merge most of the backend stuff from CM hence why I call it a CM kang now. They did start off as a AOSP kang and said they were gonna do all their own stuff, but git commits, n gerrit merges dont lie. lol
