Basic Android OS

Guest
I'm still waiting an update to Samsung GT 4 7.0 and GT 2 7.0.
I want to get rid of the absolutely stupid restriction of Android 4.4 in using the SD card.
We are waiting until Samsung has managed to modify their bloatware for the device.
Is it really impossible for Google to build a version , which fits to any tablet and phone ?
It can work so that Odin reads the model of the device, downloads the drivers and kernel from the network to the PC and builds the filesystem.
This packet can then be uploaded to the device.

If need be, the bloatware can be loaded as separated apps.

Android must return back to the roots and check how things are made in Linux. You can always find or build a version of Linux, whis works in your iron.

I have nothing against ads, but this Android 4.4 is totally braindamaged. Preventing me using my SD card made me check if I should move to Apple or even M$win (yak). In Apple you can use no memory card, so forget it.
As long as roaming prises are so high, you got to use your maps offline. And in the bush you do not have a network.

There is a "vanilla" version of Android--it's called AOSP (https://source.android.com/).

The carriers / manufacturers start with this base for each version of Android and make changes to it as they deem fit / necessary. They'll add (or not) their own customizations--launchers, "bloatware", and other special features.

They do, as you indicated, also have to have to develop a kernel for the hardware components of the device. The kernel has to be compatible with the rest of the version of Android that they've built.

Google doesn't dictate how the carriers / manufacturers put together the final recipe.

The closet you'll come to what you're asking is Google's line of Nexus devices (I own three different Nexus devices at the moment :)).
