Why should I root?

debid card does not have verification code :( (the 4 digits on back), at least here in portugal.. xD

but i think there is a service on debit card to create a virtual credit card with the amount i want, and its fast and easy. i will try that soon... thanks :P

that doesnt justify!
if the device is filming would make no sound... just at start, but not during.... and i have the right to remain in silence and to take pictures to wathever i want! and that women is just wering a skirt (lets pretend she has nothing down there xD ) , just becouse she want! so, i see no point on that decision :/
If i want to take a pic to my baby sleeping, or to any book cover at lybrary, or to any cloth at shopping, etc etc! i belive i have the right to be in silence! more than that women have the dutty to wearing a skirt! but thats not a dutty, she wants it, and it has some consequences! in that case a kid taking a picture! (sorry about my damm english xD )

Ps : i have no baby! xD it was just an example xD ahaha

I agree with you, but it is a law (even though I believe it's for Korea?) and so you gotta follow it unfortunately. Luckily HTC included the option to not have one on ;)

also, with around 50 malware apps removed from the google market recently, even using the official market can be risky business.

personally, i would shy away from unofficial app stores.

Can anyone help me root my Droid X? I just recently updated to 2.3.3 and I can't find a link anywhere to what I need to do in order to root this.

Sorry but I think they made the software 'unrootable', so I'm afraid you'll just have to wait till somebody finds a way. Keep looking here and you'll find out when/if it is possible.

Can't I go back to Froyo and then root the phone. Then after the root can I update to the none OTA version

I'm assuming you upgraded when the official update came out? If that is the case you would have to be rooted to be able to downgrade.

If on the off-chance you flashed on the 2.3.3 update, and you still have a custom recovery installed, then use your custom recovery to downgrade the phone back down to a 2.2 version, which you will be able to find with a google search.

But since your not rooted, I think you are just going to have to wait unfortunately.

Edit: You could use an SBF (system binary file) to restore your Droid to a previous version, though it could do more harm than damage if your not sure what your doing.
