Why should I root?

I think that I understand the disadvantages of rooting but what are the main advantages. Please let me know

IMO if you can't fish for yourself you really shouldn't be rooting. This is one of the most common topics on every Android forum site and there are plenty of existing threads to refer to.

The "main advantages" depends on who you ask. Not everyone roots for the same reason(s).

Nope, we don't talk about not paying for paid apps here.

As for rooting, the procedure differs dependant on your device. What do you currently own?

Yes AND encouraged (by some)

Rooting your device is legal, just it voids your warranty. There are several reasons for rooting, it allows some users to put Apps on SD card, and it allows you tu use Apps that require Superuser permissions, such as Titanium Backup and ClockSync.

It also gives you the ability to install a Custom Recovery like Clockwork Mod which then gives you the ability to install a Custom ROM.

Yes, but frowned upon by a lot of carriers and manufacturers.

You don't have an option to just turn the shutter sound off? Mine does but it is a HTC phone....

no, i dont, and it sucks :/ i can change the shutter song but i cant turn it off, even if i turn off the sound in my whole fone (multimedia, ringtone, notifications, all kind of sounds), the shutter will make the noise anyway
and the apps in app store that are free are just worst than my camera

im gonna check Camera360, but the ringer tone tip doesnt work only if i didnt get the ideia since my english is quite lame xD

im done with Camera360, its cool, does it film? i prefer the standard camera, special in zoom, but its cool thank you.

I believe that it is a legal requirement in some countries to have a shutter sound, and I can't find any way of turning it off other than using a different app. Or as you said you could always root your phone and replace the sound with a blank file.

when i try to buy something the only option is the credit card, isnt that Google Checkout , but if i could buy with Google Checkout, i still need a credit card xD unless i cound deposite money on Google Checkout, but i just tried to create an account on Google Checkout, and it asked me for credit card xD

Prepaid visas are terrible, they charge you to add money, charge more for a monthly fee, they just get expensive.
