Why the Note 3 ??

I'm close, real close to going all in on the note 3. I just need that little push.

What is it that you love about the note 3 ??

If your life depended on getting an iPhone user to drop the apple and pick up the Note 3, what would you say ?

I've never had a phone this big, but I can tell you I'd never go back to a 4" - 4.7" phone again. I absolutely love this thing. I actually play games on this thing - and it can play the best of them! It's super-fast, tons of RAM, plenty of storage, I could go on and on. I use it daily and rarely worry about battery life.

I can replace the battery if I have to and I already added a 32gb sd card (for 64GB total!). Do either on an iPhone.

Google Now is getting better and better, by the way. I use that almost every day for things like locating properties. I am a real estate appraiser and it's extremely handy for gps directions to just say, "Navigate to 123 anywhere street, Asheville" and, voila! GPS opens up. Pair that with the Note's huge screen and I'm a happy driver!

As above ^

And you can use whatever gallery, music player, browser, messenger (SMS, MMS) etc. you like and use them as the default. You can cut/copy and paste any file you like over USB from a PC.

The S-pen is handy for web browsing, sometimes you have those little X's for certain ads or a small button to hit and the pen gives you precision to do it without pressing the wrong area with your thumb and opening extra pages accidentally.
Also you can hover with the s-pen and it acts like hovering a mouse, which can open up the drop down tab/extra menu on websites that you cannot do otherwise.

Unrivalled screen brightness?

Quickly making a to do/shopping list with action memo (which you can get to quickly via the button on the pen) instead of keying in a list in a dummy text message or something.

Having an actual desktop/background on which you can arrange icons and widgets (the iphone just has a lockscreen & app drawer I believe)

Can be used as a universal remote for any TV, so you can hijack a tv in a restaurant etc if it's on the wrong channel.

NFC (which I don't use)

I appreciate the response from everyone, very positive replies!
Screen size is certainly the selling point for me. wncken brought up a great point. I too have road appointments everyday and I want something that is responsive and can help me find my way. The one addiction I have to the tech it's the GPS.
It seems like the pen would make it much much easier to reply to emails and update notes on productivity apps that I use.
Thank you again for the replies, I guess I'll give ATT a call today, ha ah

well I have to give you my take on the phones navigation skills.

there is a issue.. the COMPASS. it is complete crap!
I even traded it in for another.. still same issue.
waited for the big update to 4.4 kitkat.. still same issue.

the compass can not keep the correct heading.
using the google map or any compass app.
It has NO idea what way it is headed. it is completely random!!!

so coming out of a meeting you don't know which way you are headed.
have to start moving so see what direction you are headed.
you cannot rely on the arrow!

GPS works OK.. like any other phone's GPS.
there is the normal 10-30ft error.

I love splitting the screen so I can watch youtube while still browsing Facebook/Twitter/Chrome etc.
I'm writing this message as I watch/listen to a YouTube podcast :D

Only way I'll ever sell my Note 3 is for a Note 4 if it's a worthy upgrade.

Notes are the best phones out imo!

Screen size for browsing/watching movies/reading, s pen, and the ability to customise that I missed so much while I was an isheep. The other big selling points for me were expandable memory (I think it's an insult not to include a sd card slot) and no iTunes.

I agree 100%! :D
Did anyone say super-fast! :o

Even if you wait for the Note 4, the 3 will still be in the top level of devises.

Have a question for you guys. Were any of your note 3 purchased on a contract? If so, what carrier were they and what did it cost you?Did you have to trade in your old phone? The reason I ask is I am on the fence too. I would like to get the best possible deal. I am thinking about just buying a used one as the prices are already starting to drop. Thanks.

depends on what country you are in. Im in AUS, and on an $85 a month contract with Telstra. I get $700 worth of calls/mms and unlimited SMS. 1.5G of data on 4G. I use my phone mostly on WIFI so the small amount of data doesn't worry me. if I bust my data cap my provider allows for bolt on data packs.

Im in the us. I get good coverage where I am with everyone except sprint. The monthly fee does not concern me to much. The contract concerns me though. Four months and the 4 will be out and I would be stuck I think...

Because its the best and one of the quickest phones around.

It also has as many sensors as the starship enterpise and is reliable and productive. Also has soooo many features

My Life would never be dependent on telling someone which phone to get.

Unless you are knee deep in Apple's ecosystem and/or have a social circle that is very iOS-dominated (iMessage, Shared Photo Streams, iCloud Document Sharing, Multi Player Gaming, etc.) then the Note 3 will give you a lot more value for your money.

That's about all I can say about the two.

Great comments all the way around.
Sadly, I missed my opportunity to get the awesome deal on the note 3 from ATT. Apparently they are out of stock, is was a free Certified Like New with a new 2 year agreement.

You didn't miss out. It will be back in stock within 72hrs. I had seen the same deal about a month ago also. Just keep checking the page. I just got my Note 3 & love it so far.
