Root Why use Sense ROM on Sense phone?

I guess you can tell I'm new to rooting because this may be an obvious answer. But I've flashed Virtuous on my Incredible and from the admittedly little time I spent using it, it seemed like almost the same as stock. So I'm wondering about any differences between Sense ROMS and stock?

Currently I'm on Cyanogenmod and I miss some Sense features :( so I want to go back. But I'm thinking there is no point flashing another Sense ROM if its going to be the same as stock.

+1 for Incredibly Re-engineered. You can always use a different launcher or apply some mods if the Sense look gets boring. Sense ROMs are sometimes considered more likely to be stable (I don't have enough experience with non-Sense to know personally), but the look and feel can be modified a lot.

Also consider SkyRaider Sense 3.5. While I like the mods of Incredibly-ReEngineered, I have had battery life trouble with that ROM. SkyRaider has a few mods, but a lot of customization can be done through different launchers (Launcher Pro, ADW Launcher), Widget Locker, and other UI changing applications. Give them a shot if you want to vary up the sense experience. It got boring to me too.

Which Sense features are you missing? Most can be duplicated using various apps.

Some of the widgets. And the lock screen. I know I can use Widget Locker to get different lock screens but it seems to lag a lot.

Currently I'm trying Incredibly Re-Engineered Z and its pretty awesome I must say. Seems snappy and I love the mods. Only complaints are that you can't get to the Gallery from the camera app and the internal storage doesn't mount when connected to a computer.

Also tried Sky Raider and really liked it so I'll probably be switching between the two until I pick one.

I really liked the Incredibly Re-Engineered Z also, but starting having problems and having to do battery pulls and things like that, but I can say those problems were probably something I did wrong. Now I'm on Carbonite Fusion and I think I like it, it's a tweaked sense, but has some really smooth and neat animations.
