I'm trying to get my brothers HTC Hero to work so that I can use it instead of the one I'm using now. The main problem i'm having is that it won't turn on when I want it to turn on. I can get it to turn on if I mess with the red button for a long time, but is there an easier way for it to come up faster? When it does come on there's this message that says "No Service". Can I get into the phone without having service on the phone? I would like to use this as my phone, but I need to make sure that it works. Thanks♥

It could just be that there is a hardware problem with your power button. Mechanical things tend to wear out eventually after prolonged use.
You SHOULD be able to use your Sprint HTC Hero even without service. It would just act as a Wi-Fi enabled Internet device that does not handle voice calls or text messages.
