Help Why won't my pictures stay deleted?

typerk

Newbie
The photos app keeps repopulating pictures that I have deleted. I have auto backup turned off and I don't know of any other setting that would cause this to happen. Can anyone help?

Settings, Apps, All, media storage - clear data.

Power cycle phone, leave it sit for a half hour while the media server rebuilds the databases.

You will lose a number of preferences like which ringtone or what alarm. Nothing you can't sort out.

If you have a corrupted media management database that will sort it out.

Your actual media will be safe.

None of it will appear until after the db rebuild so don't panic and do things if you start up and see no, or missing, pictures or music.

Thank you, I will do this now

All of them. I was having major text issues yesterday with my phone and wiped it. The backup program I used failed(mybackup pro) but when I first signed into my google account all my pictures populated. I'm almost pretty sure this is a Google+ issue now because I thought all my pics were lost. I have automatic backup turned off but still can't get pics to stay deleted.

I went to settings-accounts-google-clicked on my account and unchecked google+ photos. If that doesn't work I'm giving up

All of them (albums) for me = about 40 areas, including backups on my sd card where the gallery has no business making thumbnails.

You might want to double check that.

Originally I asked if you were attached to a cloud service, you said no - now, Google+ is involved.

Use a file browser on the phone, go to storage, DCIM - What folders are there?

Hello, I am having the same issue on my new LG G4 H815. Any photos I take with the standard photo app appear in Google photos and the gallery. When I delete them from Google Photos, they also are erased from the gallery. BUT, the next day (about a 24 hour cycle it would seem), when I check both google photos and the gallery, the photos have repopulated. However, when I log into google photos online, those deleted photos are gone - so somehow the photos on my phone are not actually being deleted, even though appearing that way at first.

I have tried deleting from the gallery, but that doesn't seem to work either and also I WANT to delete these files across both my cloud storage on google photos and on the phone. Very strange that it works at first and then repopulates. I do have Flickr Auto-backup running, but have disabled it before with no change in result. I even bought a new SD card a few days ago because I read that could be the issue, but that has not helped. I also tried the suggestion earlier in this post by Early Mon, but sadly it didn't work.

Any suggestions? It is very frustrating to not be able to get rid of these pics on the SD card!
