Help Why won't our HTC Incredible's 1 & 2 hold a charge?

Okay, I give up - I need some help, people! A couple of HTC phones in my house isn't keeping a charge and/or is hard to even start charging (mines the worst). Here's the facts:

(1) I have two HTC Incredible's, and one HTC Incredible 2.
(2) We've got two HTC Chargers [5v, 1a], one LG Charger [4.8v, 0.4a], and a USB cable for a computer that we use.

A few days ago, my Incredible 2 went from a full charge to nearly dead in a matter of hours; it was strange because my battery life has always been really good. I hooked it up to a charger, and played around on the phone a little. Well, it told me that "the charge wasn't enough, find another power source" (or something like that). Then it died. No matter which charger I used, I couldn't get my phone charging. It eventually gave me a blinking orange light, which lead me to do research. Some people said it's the phones charging port, others said it was the charger or something inside the phone was fried.

After awhile, the blinking stopped and it was a steady light - my phone was finally holding a charge. After 8 hours, I took it off and turned it on. It only had 48% battery level - which it ran through in a couple of hours.

One of the incredible 1's in my house isn't holding a charge for that long either. You also have to sometimes wiggle the charger around a little to get it to connect & start. I started comparing the chargers that we use. I saw that the 3 different ones had 2 different output volts/amps (both HTC chargers were the same). Could this drastically effect the batteries? I assume it may a little, over a small period of time...but 2/3 of the phones went to hell in a handbag real quick (especially my Inc2).
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Have you ruled out any apps that may be keeping your phone awake? It might be a new app you downloaded or that was recently updated. Check out your battery stats, it might clue you in. A factory reset will help determine if it is hardware or software related.

Other than that, try buying a new battery and chargers.

I would reiterate what SD said above live wallspapers maybe an apk you recently download or changed settings on all worth checking if that doesn't work out for you here are a few other options.

The Incredible's batteries are pretty small by todays standards. You can get 2450 mah which is 45% more power storage on Ebay for a little over $3.00 a pop shipped.. They have I have been using these for about a month now. they have impressed me with how long they last and that the batteries are the same size as stock and dont require any modification or goofy battery cover. I can tell you i like them so far but again ive only been using them a month.

Also I heard that if you run the battery completely down and put it in the freezer over night the next day you can bring i back to room temp and then charge it regaining lost energy storage capabilities. I don't know as I said i have not had a reason to try it myself but I do have friends who swear by this and if you check google there are plenty of people who attest to it so maybe worth a test with one of your batteries.

Thanks for the replies! Unfortunately, Ive got no where with it. I bought a new charger and a new battery with still no luck. After wiggling the charger around in the port, I got it to where the orange light had a slow blink and then was a steady light. After a few hours, I turned on the phone. The HTC screen came up, followed by the droid screen. As soon as my home screen came loading on, it said low battery and soon shut off. This is after being charged for a few hours.

Its hard to get it to start charging now - i think it's a loose port inside the phone (judging by research and how long it takes to get to the blinking light).

I dont think I installed any new apps/wallpapers before i had this issue (but I could be wrong). But since the phone's powered off, then would an app really be keeping it awake? I'd think the phone has to be on and the app would (at most) drain the hell out of the battery. Ive got a separate battery-charging dock that's on it's way from Hong Kong, but I really don't wanna wait 3 more weeks to get my phone back on. Any more suggestions?

edit: I tried the freezer trick on my battery and didn't notice a difference. Ill try just about anything with it, so if anyone else has any ideas: throw 'em my way, please!
