Root Why won't this thing root?

I read the thread over and over, watched several videos, downloaded all the required apps to prep me for rooting, took a deep breath, then clicked. It took so long, I fell asleep and the phone was still not rooted. Clicked on Gingerbreak again, this time it took so long, I started giving myself a manicure and 2 hours later, still not rooted. No one has any idea how many times I've done this. :mad:

Trying in vane to root a Droid Optimus M version 2.2.2 so I can remove all the Metro PCS crap.:eek:
 
Search the forums and find [Root Kit]Optimus M 2.2.2 DummyProof 3 click root.

I bet that will root the phone. Just saying...

I did READ it. I read it first, then re-read it, made a folder called Rooting My Droid (just OCD like that), made, then made a note of all of the download links, saved it along with a few videos, and then thought I was ready to try it. Tried it 3 times and the same thing happens. . . nothing.

So if Gingerbreak doesn't work, what is it that I should be using that will get this going. I'm so sick of seeing "Low on Space" in the tool bar and having to clean the cache plus uninstall the apps that I want to keep using on a daily basis). What makes Metro think I need their email versus my own and the LG version of Facebook doesn't even work right telling me my password and email address is INVALID when I'm using them!:mad:
 
You may have read it... But you read the wrong thing...look 2 post up and search what bob dammit said here in the forums

It says it's rooting and stays on that window and I leave it and it doesn't reboot or anything, so it just says it's rooting. Everyone says that Gingerbreak won't work so I'm re-reading what i must have read over before so i can get this done.:confused:
 
You'll never get it done unless you follow the instructions in the thread I posted.

Its currently the only way to root 2.2.2.

Please come back and let us know if this worked for you and if it didn't, explain what happened. We'll help ya get that sucker rooted.
