Why is the Evo from sprint online available to buy, yet the best buy's around here tell me they havent had one come in for like 2-3weeks. Wonder when the stores will start getting them.

Was just in the Sprint store yesterday and they had received a shipment of EVOs ... a lady where there to pick hers up after being notified from the waiting list.

I went to a best buy store and i got on the wait list for $50 an got a gift card so im just waiting it out since no refund on that.

I sold my gift card and spot on the waiting list. Got the $50 I paid out of it. Just a thought...

^ Yep. I believe it's $600 to buy from BB w/o contract. I certainly wouldn't buy from them.

Also, I really don't understand why the EVO is so hard to get right now. HTC's production line leaves much to be desired.

Radio Shack stores in my area seem to be getting them Bi-weekly. Might help in your search. I didn't have any problem finding mine :P

Called up the radio shacks in my area 1 told me they might be getting them twmr and told me they would give me a call if they do. the others ones...well...they tried to tell me how cool the epic is because it has a keyboard...

A Mexican guy sold me one out of his trunk. I became suspicious when I discovered it was made of wood with "EVO Phono" written on it with black magic marker. I still can't get the damned thing to boot. The guy at tech support said to remove the battery but I don't think this model has one.

Can anyone one else who owns the wooden EVO model without a battery give me some advice? If I can't get this to work I'm gonna find that guy and get my $5 back. Must be one of those "refurb" units.
