Wi-Fi connection name

When I looked at the active connections on my wireless router I spotted a connection called "gasman". After a few minutes checking I realised that it was my Desire. Prior to recent 2.2 upgrade the connection name had been "unknown_ the MAC address". My wife's Desire does still connect as "unknown".
I've had a fairly good look into settings and can't find anything that would name the connectioin as "gasman".
Has anyone got any clues where I might find the name?

I think it was the router having a funny half-hour.
