Help Wi-fi dropping

I have Wi-fi at work that my phone now won't connect too, but keeps telling that it is available, and keeps asking for the password?!
Other colleagues are connecting successfully, so leads to me to an issue with phone, and i see on the web that there were issues with wi-fi with latest Android 4.4.3 update which I have!
I'm with Vodafone UK.
 
That only happens when you aren't typing the password in correctly. It's not going to connect unless you have the right password. Did you try rebooting your phone? And is the phone set up to auto find 2.4 and 5 GHZ WiFi networks?
 
Hey there! Make sure you "forget the network, disable wifi, then re-enable it and attempt to connect again. If you are still having issues (and this may sound silly) but go ahead and forget the network again and reconnect and let someone that has not had a problem connecting enter the password.

Sometimes the silliest things work.
 
It happens all you have to do is go into advance . turn off WiFi on device for five to ten seconds turn back on if it still is out go to advance and just perform a SCAN. All it is the WiFi channel has been in use with another device or your WiFi box settings is set to change channels when signal is poor to keep away hackers . Try the advance >SCAN .
 
BRAINZ....I don't understand that, my phones sees it, and keeps telling me its available, but it just won't connect to it.
As highlighted in my post there is known issues like this re latest phone updates, could it be this??? Do i need to wait for android update, or my provider?
 
Try this..IT may sound unrelated, but try it.

Go into wifi settings, wifi direct, tap the menu button and rename your device to HTC-M8.

save it, remove the old network, turn ff wifi, turn it back on, attempt to reconnect.
 
If you do a scan it will locate the WiFi its logged on and begin working by connection to it .
Sorry about that go to WiFi settings and do a SCAN. this will look for WiFi and bam what you know it see the one its logged on to and it connects
 
Solpathy - tried that, good idea, but didn't work ( i hope I can still connect to all my other saved wi-fis!?).
BRAINZ - that further instructions, helps me less!!
Tlicious - asked IT guys no changes from what i have been accessing for last few years, and as I said others around me connecting ok!

I'm still at a loss guys! I have to re-enter the password all the time too......and I say again I see lots of issues on web (like here) with Wi-Fi after Android upgrade and think this is the problem, just waiting for someone to tell me the fix to do with that, which I can't find......

I'm loathe to add to this as we are going in circles as it is....but my phone rarely connects to my home WiFi every time I arrive home, and hooks onto neighbours which i don't have access too....you'd think after months/yea\rs of suing my own, my phone would learn the ones I use and connect to them....should it?
 
Depending on the type of router your M8 may not be the culprit. One of the moderators will have to elaborate like EarlyMon. We have had lots of people have this same issue but there was something that needed to be done with the router.
 
That is true now it is time to reset router just turn off and wait 45sec power back on if problem still happen you need to change the 80211 b/g/n
 
Two points:
1. I have had to reset many routers elsewhere, and that's when you see no Wi-Fi point, here I can see it....thus implying to me its ok.
2. I have no access to router, so can't do such, though I will ask IT dept to try, but as i keep saying other colleagues are connecting with ease, most are irritatingly on iphones, again implying its ok.
 
No idea whether this is pertinent, but my work router is configured such that if you fail to connect x number of times it will block you for 3 hours or so. And if you attempt to connect again within that 3 hour block you get locked out for another 3 hours.
