Help Wi-fi Issue

Girevik

Sorry for the double post. I put this in the general Captivate forum before I noticed the troubleshooting one.

I had my phone connected to my home wi-fi network and working perfectly yesterday. Today I am still able to update my feeds page, but if I try to use the browser I get a "page not found" error, and if I go into the market I'm getting a "network error" message.

My network is showing up as connected in my wi-fi settings screen, and I'm still able to connect and do everything on my iPod so I don't think it's an issue with my network.

Can anyone give me a hint as to what might be happening?

If you go to menu>settings>Wireless and Network>Wi-Fi settings and you tap on your home network under Wi-Fi networks, does it display a valid IP address for your subnet?

It's seems to (but I'm not an expert in this area). The ip adress is give me there is xxx.xxx.1.148, and when I do an "ipconfig", my default gateway is xxx.xxx.1.1. I'm assuming that means it's got the IP correct, but as I say I'm not totally sure.

I'm having the same problem. Two new captivate phones in our house. Will connect to the wifi network, and get a valid IP address.

They are pulling no data from our wifi. Every other device (including the laptop I'm using now) are working fine.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just solved my own problem. Turned the phones off and then back on, and now all is working fine!

Unfortunately this fix has only proven temporary for me. Every couple days at least, wifi will just stop working with the exact same symptoms as you describe. I have to restart my phone every couple days just so I can use wifi again.

That stinks. I've only had the issue one other time, and that was at my parents' when they were having wi-fi issues. I restarted thier router and before my phone would pick it up and I had to restart it. Could you be having intermitent wi-fi issues that could be causing the problem?

I'm having the same issues with my home WiFi. However, I've noticed that it occurs only when I connect the phone to my PC via the USB cable. Once I disconnect it, the phone can not access data through the WiFi even though it still shows it is connected. Any idea what may be causing this?
