Wi-Fi network blocks mobile devices

On your laptop open comand promt when connected to the wifi and type ipconfig/all

Look at anything that mentions proxy that says yes/enabled etc.

Thanks for that. I ran ipconfig /all and the only mention of proxy is... WINS proxy enabled........No Does this now rule out a proxy? Does it seem that they are actually blocking my device somehow (MAC filtering perhaps)? I've emailed IT but no one has got back to me yet.

Well my IT department finally got back to me but had no solution, they apparently don't block any devices and they don't have a proxy set up.

Over the weekend I rooted my phone and installed Froyo (as per Lekky's guide) and it now works!!!

Guess it was either an Eclair problem or a defect in the T-mobile ROM.
