Wi-fi question

Yes it does same with gps. Both my wifi and gps turn off when the phone is sleeping which helps. I just put the hero widget on the home screen so I can turn them on and off easy.
 
Thanks for the reply Mez, really useful. Question about GPS though, if enabled is it on ALL the time? I'm asking this because I have it enabled but only comes on in the notification bar when using apps that use locating such as Maps, so I though it only came on when using these apps?
 
Even if an app isnt using it it will still drain battery life.

Best option is, is to have widgets for toggling the gps/wifi on and off on one of your screens. Just click the + sign to add a widget then select HTC Widget and Settings. There are four settings that have toggle switches. Select the appropriate ones and you can turn them on and off from your home screen in a flash. Very handy.
 
I found power consumption, especially GPS, is very high.

Does standby switch off gps too? I know if stops wifi.
